APPRECIATIVE QUESTION: Imagine Cass County as a place where people are more aware of and have better access to health, wellness, and community resources. How might we partner together to coordinate resources for increased access and awareness?

Cass County, Indiana

The I-HOPE West Field Implementation Team serves Cass County, which is located north of Indianapolis in central Indiana with Logansport as the county seat. The area's network of non-profits is busy at work on a county-wide resource list; there are close ties between immigration support and the local hospital; schools are a focal point in the community and provide services beyond the traditional scope; the community has a strong band of volunteers; and personal freedom is important here.

While Cass County has much to be proud, it’s listed among a handful of counties ranked highest in Indiana on national vulnerability indexes for economic and social risk. From our listening sessions, community members have shared that the county is a mental health desert with medical professionals moving away; it lacks adequate transit stops and access to broadband internet must improve; people (especially senior citizens) here have little to no home support and utilize services as a social support; people are unaware of available services; and a common collaborative vision for better health is needed.

The county's I-HOPE Core Team is leading community stakeholders to imagine Cass County as a place where people are more aware of and have better access to health, wellness, and community resources.
